I Holland Ltd Home

iTAB is IHolland’s unique tablet design software, aiding the design and calculation of key tablet parameters, while also performing stress analysis for round and shape tool tips in 3 easy steps. Custom designed by the IHolland Design Team, iTAB incorporates over 60 years of tablet tooling design experience & expertise. iTAB is Microsoft® Windows based, compatible with modern, common place PC specifications and operating systems.

Users do not need to possess any technical knowledge or have any formal training, as iTAB is very user friendly and intuitive throughout. iTAB simply and quickly produces 2D tablet drawings, with data and format consistent with existing official IHolland tablet drawings, while also semi-automatically generating design reports.

Step 1: The selection of a tablet shape & profile, then modification of key parameters such as: diameter, mass, cup depth, density and radii, etc... using simple controls in real time. The iTAB ‘Safety Zone’ highlights undesirable tablet features, ensuring only quality tablet designs are produced.

Step 2: Initiation of a quickly produced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) from the tablet design developed in Step 1, provides a 3D dynamic rotational stress analysis of the tool tip.

Step 3: The semi-automatic production of a final report, summarising and including:
(a) 2D tablet drawing
(b) Key tablet design data (volume, mass, density & surface area etc…)
(c) Tool tip stress analysis and maximum safe working load data in KN.

The report can be quickly and easily, printed, saved or emailed directly to the IHolland Design Team for further analysis, support or tooling production, as required.

iTAB allows non-CAD and non-FEA users, to simply and quickly design and evaluate round and shape plain tablets, with detailed analysis data, all from a few clicks of a mouse.

Good benefits are gained by avoiding tablet manufacturing problems such as punch tip breakage from the outset, due to greater understanding of the tablet & tooling design capabilities. Immediate and accurate data allows for instant decision making on critical issues.
